Women in a bar expect to get hit on by guys who’ve got  some “liquid courage” after having a few drinks.

Approaching a woman in bar or pub, many people say you should not offer to buy her a drink – the reality is that that is perfectly fine, but only after you’re talking and laughing together.

“Can I buy you a drink?” as an opening line is not suggested, you’ll be just wasting time and money in most cases.

Instead, opening with a question that gets her talking is a better idea. You’d get a nice laugh out of her if you said “men’s underwear – which is sexier, boxers or briefs?” or asked her “are macho men really sexy, or just annoying as hell?”

That can open her up and get her laughing and you don’t come off as just another drunk jerk with a pick up line. Say it with a little smile and a playful demeanor and she’ll want to be part of the fun.

Pick up lines: should you use them?

Generally pick up lines are seen as cheesy and women see right through them, but if you deliver a pick up line with a wry smile and tongue-in-cheek attitude, it could work if she “gets it”.

You’re taking a calculated risk using pick up lines because she might not see it as fun if she thinks you’re just another annoying guy with a pick up line.

Which brings up another important point: you’re better off going to a bar or pub to talk to women just to be friendly and practice meeting women rather than going there with a “search and hook-up” attitude.

That’s because you’ll actually do better and be more successful if you have a fun demeanor rather than going in feeling like you’ve “got to get phone numbers or make dates” attitude.

In other words, you’ll be more relaxed and she’ll feel that and actually be more interested in you because of your confident relaxed attitude.

Whether you are trying to hook up or get phone numbers or not, a confident demeanor will be your best secret weapon; talk & gesture purposefully and keep your demeanor in-control and your posture erect because this conveys that all-important-to-women confident attitude they love in a man.
